Effects Of Alcohol And The Symptoms Of Alcohol Abuse

There are two main types of drugs that are acceptable for use in social circles. The first is coffee which contains the drug caffeine but can only really do damage in quantities that cannot be consumed in one sitting.

The second, however, is alcohol that can have a great effect on a person – even if it’s only taken in small quantities. There are numerous effects of alcohol that one must be aware of, and just because it is socially acceptable to consume these types of beverages does not mean that you should.

Be aware that alcoholism is genetic and that if even one person in your family suffers from this disease, you are at risk of becoming addicted to the substance. The first of the effects of alcohol that you must take into account is whether your personality changes when you have had a few drinks.

Some effects of alcohol lead to people becoming mean drunks while other people become much happier which can lead them to craving the feelings they experience when they are drinking alcohol. These effects of alcohol mean that you have lost the ability to reason and that the alcohol controls your actions.

Other effects of alcohol are binge drinking and ‘blacking out’. Being unable to stop drinking after your first drink can mean that the effects of alcohol have taken control of you even though you only drink less than once a week.

If you find that you ‘black out’, and cannot remember what you have done when you were drinking, this could also be a sign that you have succumbed to the effects of alcohol and that you should get advice from a rehab centre. Although some or any of these signs may not mean that you are an alcoholic, it is important to seek help if you are experiencing any of these symptoms when you are drinking.

We will do whatever it takes ...

SCRC's approach is aimed at facilitating change from the culture of addiction to the culture of recovery.

This process will yield limited success when approached outside of a residential treatment facility particularly when detoxification is required. It is imperative that individuals entering treatment are given as much training and education as possible.
