Registration

The Department of Social Development has, over the last few years, been in the process of developing an evaluation base for treatment centres.

Extensive work has gone into this Minimum Norms and Standards for Treatment according to the Prevention and Treatment Drug Dependency Act, Act 20 of 1992.

Over this period of time we have worked closely with the department as can be seen through their regular evaluation of SCRC, its staff and systems.

The minimum standards are in accordance with international protocols and standards.

SCRC is proud to be approved and registered with the following organisations:

  • The Department of Social Development in accordance with the new minimum standards - one of the first treatment centres in the country to have this recognition.
  • The Board of Health Funders (BHF) as a rehabilitation and detoxification facility. Our practise number is 04770000179221.
  • The Department of Health.
  • Correctional Services.
  • Local municipality.
  • The European Association for the Treatment of Addiction (EATA).
  • The Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals (FDAP).

We will do whatever it takes ...

SCRC's approach is aimed at facilitating change from the culture of addiction to the culture of recovery.

This process will yield limited success when approached outside of a residential treatment facility particularly when detoxification is required. It is imperative that individuals entering treatment are given as much training and education as possible.
